Lawyers, Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers and Architects and other Professionals gathered at Old Swiss Inn, Makati City to attend the 8th Construction Arbitrators Accreditation Course. Hosted by the Philippine Institute Of Construction Arbitrators & Mediators, Inc. (PICAM) and the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC). The 8 day event from 11 to 20 April 2016 was held for participants to fully understand the concept, rationale, principles and advantages of Arbitration , in general , and Construction Arbitration in particular, over judicial litigation in resolving disputes; enhance their knowledge and skills that will make them competent, effective and efficient in rendering arbitration awards that are fair, lasting and serve the mutual interests of disputants thereby implementing State Policy to actively promote party autonomy, curb litigious culture and decongest court dockets.
Various Luminaries from Construction, Engineering and Legal fields graced the event as part of the training faculty imparting knowledge and skills about General Construction Arbitration such as, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Construction Arbitration Process, Highlights of Construction Arbitration Rules, Case- Handling Procedural Problems, Legal Issues on Arbitration, Drafting of TOR and Award and Practical Exercises.

The event was capped off by an accreditation ceremony with the attendance of the CIAC Commissioners Manuel M. Cosico, Antonio A. Abola and Emilo Lolito J. Tumbocon (He is one of the participants in the 8th Batch).
Last 14 July 2016, the participants who attended the seminar were inducted to the CIAC as new Construction Arbitrators and as new members Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators & Mediators, Inc. The induction was held in The Supreme Court and presided by Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P. A. Sereno.
